.:Grand Rivye du Nord:.
Grand Rivye du Nord is about an hour and a half from our house. Because Frantzy was the only doctor available for this clinic, we decided to stay overnight. It was awesome to see two churches work together to host us. One church hosted us for the clinic and fed us so well and the other allowed us to stay in their super nice guest house.
This is a tough zone to minister in. This was the first free medical clinic of any kind in this zone, so the crowds were huge and it got out of hand a few times. But God is faithful and He helped us through! In 2 days we saw 334 patients.
We also had reading glasses in this clinic, so many were not only blessed with medication, but they received new John and Romans booklets and reading glasses! Love seeing their faces when they see the Word of God more clearly - literally!
We love the kids!
Praise God, we have recently found a new pharmaceutical depot where we are able to get medications at a discounted price. Affordable children suspensions has been one of the biggest blessings!
There is a lot of voodoo in Grand Rivye. This young woman isn't pregnant. Someone put a curse on her many years ago. Through prayer and fasting this is the smallest she has been in many years. She had to drop out of school and work because many days she can't even get out of bed.
We saw many difficult cases. The man sitting in this picture has terrible heart issues. His wife is doing everything she can to get him help, but because of finances and a lack of good healthcare in Haiti we weren't able to do much to help. This is definitely one of the toughest things in doing clinics like this! We are so blessed in the States to even have any kind of opportunity to see educated health specialists!
Monik has recently started working triage at our clinics! She's doing a great job, we are so thankful to have her on our team!
Dr. Frantzy is always making new friends!
We like to keep it classy :)
Pharmacy. God is always so faithful! We are completely amazed at how we always have just enough meds to get through another clinic! We sure are blessed to get to be used by Him!
Sometimes the crowds get really really big. We have code words to get out quickly. Our staff has gotten really good at packing up quickly so we can get out safely. Sometimes people who have nothing are so desperate to get anything. It makes our job hard, but we do our best to make sure we are faithful in helping those who the Lord has sent to us.
Love the hearts of our staff!
This picture is just too good not to share! On our way back from this clinic we went out for pizza and burgers. The waitress brought bread and butter before our dinner arrived. Reginald just couldn't see the butter go to waste, so he threw it in his pocket. hahaha! So good!
Shout out to New Beginnings Bible church in Greencastle, Indiana for the donations to purchase missing medications for this clinic! Thanks for catching the vision for this work and being faithfully involved! We love you guys!
