a huge party in heaven.

In April a group of students from our church worked in the sleet, rain, and snow for three days to raise money to host a county wide youth rally.  All I have to say is, our students rock!  They raised over $1,000!  They have put so much time, energy, prayer, tears, and planning into the rally and it FINALLY took place last night.
Although our goal of 300 students wasn't met, God definitely showed up.  Tiny Hands International came in and spoke about sex trafficking and Christa Ciotti led worship.  Our youth group put on an intense drama called, "A Letter from Hell".  The night went perfectly.
Although we were a little bummed when 5:30 rolled around and there weren't many students, God wasn't.  He knew exactly who needed to be there and when.  Honestly, when we were all discouraged at the beginning, He was probably sitting in Heaven laughing at us saying, "just wait!".  I'm crying (again) as I type this...SIX students accepted Christ last night.  We gained SIX new brothers and sisters!  I can't even imagine the party that was taking place in Heaven.
Last night I was reminded that God calls us to be faithful...that's it!  He'll provide the rest!  This is something that we need reminded of all the time!  Yesterday morning I was praying for the rally, and I opened my Bible to this..."You will not succeed by your own strength or by your own power, but by my Spirit" (Zech 4:6).  Let this be a reminder to us that when God calls us to do something, we need to just do it.  He already knows what the outcome will be!

at the end of the night the students were challenged to pray and write down 3 names of people they know who don't know Jesus.  what got me the most was seeing the students who had just accepted Jesus, on their knees, praying, and crying for their lost friends.  i have no doubt in  my mind, God is going to use each and every one of those students to reach people who don't know Him.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
