When I think about words to describe the country of Haiti, yes I think about devastation, poverty and sadness. But the words that stick out to me most are words such as hope, joy and faith. You can sense the hope in a teenager, who grew up in a country that is so struck with poverty, tell about what they want to do with their life, as they share you know they will succeed. You can hear the joy in a child's laugh, as they play in a garbage heap that fills us with sadness when we look at it. The faith is obvious to anyone looking at a Haitian brother or sister, amidst their devastation they have only one, Jesus. I'm jealous of the faith of the Haitian people, they literally rely on the Lord for every last thing. He provides.
