Happy Father's Day - TDC Practice!

My dad is my hero!  Tomorrow marks 21 years since he began driving 18-wheelers across the country to provide an incredible life for his family.  When I was 6 weeks old he felt God laying on his heart the importance of homeschooling and allowing my mom to stay at home and devote all of her attention to her family!  21 years later, nothing has changed.  My dad is the hardest working man I've ever met.  Even today, he's still working 15 hour days and doing whatever it takes to provide.  He's sacrificed so much to give Ben and I the life that he believes we deserve.  I wouldn't be nearly the person I am today if he hadn't sacrificed so much to allow mom to stay home with us.  I wouldn't have ever had the opportunities that I had thrown my way, I wouldn't have a strong Biblical foundation in my life, and I wouldn't have any idea what a real man is!  My dad has taught me so much the last 21 years and I am so proud of the incredible man that he is!  Now that Ben and I are all grown up, I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for my mom and dad's lives!  I thank Him every single day for such incredible parents!  I love you, Dad!

Today for Father's Day, we spent the day at Conway Freight practicing for the Truck Driving Championship in Indianapolis.  This is the second year that dad has competed and we're pretty sure he's got it this year!  Only the best of the best compete in this competition.  It's not surprising that dad's been asked to compete, he pretty much owns anything he puts his mind to!  This coming Saturday is the official competition.  Today was his last practice.

-------------------------
1. Jack-knifing (parallel parking) a trailer between two barricades with just inches on each side.

2. Scoring between 30-50 points by parking exactly in the center of this board on the passenger side.

3. Make a right-hand turn as close to the "curb" as possible and score with each cone.

4. Make turns scoring on each cone.

5. Line the back of the trailer up as close to the yellow line as possible - perfect!

6. Back the truck & trailer up as close to the gate as possible - another perfect score!

7. Weave through barrels - I didn't great a very good photo of this.

8. Stop the truck exactly on the blue line.

9. Stop right before the blue line.

10. Stop right before the white line & keep the tread inside the black box.  See the margin of error? Yeah, neither do I - only the best of the best. :)

12. Drive as close to the cones as possible without touching them & scoring along the way!

Saturday they'll have 6 problems similar to these in the actual competition.
