Mi amigos y familia!
I hope you all are having an amazing Monday night! We just finished week number one in Montelibano! It´s very hot here, in fact just the other day it was 102! We are the visiting missionaries at a mission conference here, so we are being treated like royalty! The people are amazing, I have made many new friends who laugh at me every time I attempt to say the newest spanish word they taught me! We are helping to run a mini DTS here, there are many people, young and old in this school! I love hearing their future plans, the majority of them want to be missionaries! It´s so awesome seeing kids younger than me who have a dream to do the Lord´s work for the rest of their lives! Kids who are acting upon what they feel God wants them to do, you don´t see that everyday and I feel so blessed so be a part of the kids lives, and to hear about all of the amazing things God is going to do with and through them! I love that we are visiting missionaries, it has helped me come to the realization that I actually am a missionary...and i love it! It´s exactly what I asked God not to make me do when I was in 6th grade!
So much has happened this past week, we have been extremely busy! Our team has split up a couple of times to cover the churches that they have scheduled us for, in fact this past week alone we have been to 5 churches and done 4 ministry times in parks, we have been to businesses to pray for the employees and went to a hospital to pray for the patients! Thursday night was my very favorite ministry time so far, we were doing a park ministry, dramas, testimonies, etc. At first I was very discouraged bercause the Colombian news station were there filming us and we didn´t have a very good turn-out. When we finished we got into groups, as we always do to pray for people, I was in a group with my friends Matt,Nicole and George our tranlator. We prayed for many people, and the last one was a lady and her son, we prayed for healing for her son and then she asked us to pray for her, she was 5 months pregnant, everything had been going well, she just wanted us to pray for a healthy birth, we prayed, I held her son...the CUTEST 2 year old boy in Colombia...and once we finished praying we chatted for awhile, and she decided she wanted to accept Christ!!! Matt led her in the prayer, it was amazing! I have never been able to help with something as awesome as leading someone to Christ, I absolutely love the fact that I have yet another sister in Christ! I trust that not only is her pregnancy going to be perfect, but that her baby boy is healed and will no longer have ear problems!
The worship services here in Colombia have been outstanding, there has been lots of jumping around and dancing, one of the guys on our team pointed out that they have the spirit of worship that King David had! It is very true! I love it so much! So we have 10 more days in this town, we leave Colombia exactly one month from today! I can´t believe how fast it´s going by!
Thank you so much for all of your prayers, you will never understand how awesome it is knowing so many people are praying for me!
On a side note, my parents went to Haiti this past week, my dads very first trip, and he loved it! It means the world to me that he went and experienced the country that i love so much! So, for those of you who were praying for them, thank you for doing so, they had an amazing trip!
That´s all for now, we don´t have much time at the internet cafe!
In Christ alone,
Jenny
Please remember to pray for....
-Our team, continued unity, good attitudes and lots of perseverence!
-The people of Colombia, and Montelibano, that God would open their hearts to hear what He is speaking through us, and that the people that we have already prayed for would seek Him more.
-Our families back home, we are all very homesick, and our families are getting anxious for us to get home!
-The problems in Colombia, drugs, paramilitary, etc just that God would heal this country to the way that He intended it to be.
-For the kids in the mini DTS, that they would seek Christ and grow into awesome men and women for Him!
Thank you so much!
